Managing and Leading a Remote Workforce

Until recently, I managed teams that were all physically located in the same office. After several acquisitions of companies located across the country, I had to quickly learn how to adapt my management and leadership style to this remote and distributed workforce.  Now, due to the response to COVID-19, many of you have been thrust into a similar scenario of managing a distributed and remote workforce.

While I certainly don’t have all the answers, I’d like to share things I’ve learned from leading a company outside of the confines of a single location. I hope these tips and things I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) can be helpful for you during this time.
