[FORT WAYNE, IN] — Honor Flight Northeast Indiana (HFNEI) will celebrate its 48th flight to Washington, D.C. on Sept. 18. Corsica Technologies, a cybersecurity and IT managed services leader, is sponsoring this Honor Flight and providing innovative technology services to transform its business operations.

Honor Flight No. 48 currently consists of a total of 86 veterans: six Korean veterans, 15 Cold War veterans, 63 Vietnam veterans, one Iraqi Freedom veteran, and one Afghanistan veteran. To date, over 3,500 veterans have been transported to Washington by Honor Flight Northeast Indiana to reflect upon the memorials built in their honor.

Corsica Technologies provides technology services in the Fort Wayne area and beyond, including IT services, cybersecurity, data integration, digital transformation, and strategic consulting. The company helped Honor Flight Northeast Indiana transform its operations with a new database system.

Previously, Honor Flight volunteers had to process all flight-related information on paper. This meant that volunteers had to transport numerous boxes of paperwork on flight days. With the organization’s new database system, volunteers can access all relevant information from tablets and mobile devices. This empowers volunteers to spend flight days getting to know veterans — rather than chasing down paperwork.

Michael Thena - The Honor Flight Review

“We’re thrilled to partner with Honor Flight Northeast Indiana,” said Wes DeKoninck, director of digital transformation at Corsica Technologies. “Getting behind the Honor Flight mission and cheering on the amazing volunteers who make these vet opportunities a reality is easy.

“We feel privileged to develop the technology that allows volunteers to focus on veterans, not paperwork. Sponsoring this flight was a no-brainer and a natural extension of our relationship, and we’re thankful for the part we can play in support of this great organization.”

“We are thrilled to have Corsica Technologies sponsor Honor Flight 48, recognizing how much easier they have made the organization of the flight, by helping us with required documentation and database management,” said Honor Flight Northeast Indiana President Cathy Berkshire.

“Corsica has proven how much they honor our veterans by contributing to our ability to manage these special days to give a much-deserved day of honor to the men and women who proudly serve this great country.”
